FORLIFE, BEAUTY IN EXCHANGE FOR WASTE

08 Oct, 2023

The installation in Brescia was created from industrial waste from Italian manufacturers and thanks to the involvement of community associations, schools and hospitals.

In Brescia, Capital of Culture 2023, ForLife, the living installation by Luca Gnizio.

A majestic, living tree is suspended in the giant cubic structure of the installation, in which each of 21 sections will receive the waste from participating companies to shape and add colour to the work as the days pass.

Visitors can explore the work both from the outside and from within and experience this innovative and especially inclusive way of making art to raise environmental awareness.

This is the ForLife installation by Luca Gnizio, on display in Brescia, Capital of Culture 2023. A unique experience, which transcends and rewrites the concept of beauty in no uncertain terms to show that waste, produced in abundance by the fabric of the local economy, is the new raw material. In the middle is the tree of life, which feeds and thrives on that fabric.

With an artistic gesture that is more than simple reuse, companies can exchange the waste they inevitably produce for beauty. Each company's commitment to recycling in this environmental synergy will generate the "lifeblood" to keep the tree alive.
